So, how long have you been a member of PPRA?
Since Summer 2013.
How did you get into PR?
I thoroughly enjoy writing and talking. When it came time to pursue a career path, I sought out an industry that allowed me to do those things.
Tell us a little bit about your current position.
I am an Associate – Social Media Manager at Ceisler Media & Issue Advocacy. I help develop and implement social media strategies for non-profit, government, and corporate clients.
What is your favorite aspect of your current job?
I love that the nature of my work with clients is issue-driven. I like helping clients communicate positions on issues that I believe in.
Are there any PR trends that you’re really into right now?
Digital/social PR continues to evolve in an exciting way. I appreciate when organizations use new tools to effectively craft and communicate their messages.
What social media platform do you use the most in your personal life? What about for business purposes?
I use Facebook and Instagram the most for connecting with friends and family. For business purposes, I mostly use Twitter and LinkedIn.
If you could give one piece of advice to current PR students about getting into the industry, what would it be?
Don’t underestimate the importance of networking. Shamelessly put yourself in a position to meet and learn from leaders in the industry.
What is your favorite thing about Philly?
Philadelphians are extraordinarily passionate…about everything.
Anything else we should know about you?
I dabble in creative writing in my free time. I dig contemporary short fiction and poetry.
