The millennial approach to holiday donations

By Susan Young

A new infographic reveals that although millennials are giving in record numbers, their preferred methods are different from what we’ve seen in the past. Many nonprofits are learning that social media campaigns are integral to boosting fundraising this holiday season. The infographic illustrates how more millennial women than men dig into their pockets to help charities. A survey also revealed these key statistics:

· More than 45 percent of millennials have volunteered to help a nonprofit organization or benevolent cause in the past month.

· Nearly 30 percent have donated between $100 and $500 to charitable causes.

· In 2013, almost 90 percent of young people had given to charities, as compared with 75 percent in 2011.

Which campaigns have resonated with this demographic?
